Oak Trees & Dirt Piles
When my sister became a mother I began to think about motherhood and our relationship more than ever. Creating these photographs involved an intimate level of collaboration between us. Growing up with siblings you are not often thinking about how your relationship will change. As the youngest child I was constantly looking towards mt older brother and sister for guidance. ‘Oak Tree & Dirt Piles’ is a body of work where I observe a whole new side of my sister as we navigate how our relationship is evolving. The project is meant to be complex: it intimately captures fear, joy, exhaustion, connection and much more.
Platonic Intimacy
Being abroad challenged the way I look at relationships. This series explores the comfort, beauty, and depth of female friendships. The storyline is ever-changing through the presentation of the images and one’s personal experience.
FEATURED
The goal of ‘FEATURED’ is to encourage people to take time to think about and appreciated their body for what it is and what it does for them
A conversation is had with my subject asking what their favorite feature on themselves is. But in asking this I push them to think past what the world may view as their most conventionally attractive feature.
It is special as an artist and person to have these candid conversations. Be kind to yourself and those around you.
Cover Shoot
This work is inspired by Stephen Meisel, starting with recreating one of his images, here in black and white. Then moving on to creating work in Meisel’s style.
